the ides of march : mixing the new record at the blasting room in ft. collins, co. with jason livermore at the helm. among hundreds of other records, a certain few of you may remember jason as co-engineering shiners' final record the egg with j robbins. i'm pretty stoked to be working with livermore again. he's the one in charge of making the sounds we've been putting down for the past 6 months sound like a proper recording.
what clinched the deal for me was my memory of jason finally stepping into the sunlight outside of great western studio (in champaign) for the first time in 9 straight days of intensive recording and editing, 9 lbs heavier and an inch of new growth on his face, most of it hair. that's commitment.
japnese tour film : editing with wick in early april. should prove excruciating again. last time we watched ourselves act like american reprobates for 33 hours straight, (our worst fears of how we really are were proven to be true, you'll recall.) despite this, it will be released 1) in tandem with the new disc, or 2) as an addendum to the japanese release of the new record, or 3) as it's own product, depending upon length and quality. standby.
tour : much coast to coast sweating beginning in the balmy summer months.
1 more thing : come to the shows. we miss you.
